MASN Announces 2007-2008 NCAA Basketball Schedule
MASN, the leader in live sports programming, announced its 2007-2008 NCAA basketball schedule featuring an unprecedented lineup of nationally-ranked teams and local colleges and universities. The Official Cable Network of Georgetown, George Mason, and UNC Wilmington will televise over 180 college basketball games this season, featuring all 13 conferences within the network’s seven-state television territory.
MASN is the home of Georgetown Hoyas basketball and will air nine live Hoyas games including match-ups between local schools like American, Radford and Old Dominion. The most storied college program in the area expects to improve on its season last year when it won a Final Four berth. The Hoyas enter the season ranked number 5 in the ESPN/USA Today pre-season poll and return their star center and pre-season Big East player of the year, Roy Hibbert.
MASN is the Official Cable Network of George Mason basketball and will televise 8 Patriots games this season, starting Friday night when the George Mason Patriots host the University of Vermont Catamounts live from the Patriot Center at 7:00 pm.
MASN is also the new television home of the BB&T Classic basketball triple-header benefiting the Children’s Charities Foundation. The full day of local college action takes place on December 2nd live from the Verizon Center and features some of the region’s best college basketball programs including Maryland, George Mason, George Washington, Auburn, Virginia Commonwealth and East Carolina University.
With its unprecedented college basketball schedule, MASN will cover every one of the 13 conferences in Division I basketball that play in MASN’s seven-state viewing territory, including the A-10, ACC, America East, ASUN, Big East, Big South, CAA, Conference USA, MAAC, MEAC, NEC, Patriot and Southern.
MASN is again the home of The Big East Game of the Week and will televise more than 80 games featuring Big East teams. Every Saturday at noon MASN will give fans the opportunity to watch nationally ranked teams like Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Pittsburgh, and Villanova, as well as Hall of Fame coaches like Jim Calhoun, Jim Boeheim, Bob Huggins and Rick Pitino.
In addition, MASN is the Official Cable Network of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. MASN will air eight live Seahawks games this season, as well as “Seahawk Sports Roundup” and “The Benny Moss Show.” Bringing fans the best in regional sports programming, MASN will broadcast an exciting lineup of local colleges and universities including American, Loyola, Old Dominion, Mount St. Mary’s, Maryland, Virginia Commonwealth, Radford, Liberty, James Madison, Towson, Virginia Military Institute and William and Mary.
Additionally, MASN’s 5.2 million households will have the opportunity to watch UNC-Charlotte, High Point, Appalachian State, Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, East Carolina University, Davidson, Campbell, Winston-Salem State, UNC-Greensboro, Elon and UNC-Asheville throughout the season.

The network also has a robust slate of NCAA women’s basketball featuring the Big East, Big South, Sun Belt, MAAC, CAA and NEC. The 24 women’s games will include 5 nationally-ranked teams, and a number of local colleges and universities like Loyola, Mount St. Mary’s, Winthrop, George Mason and Georgetown. Additionally, MASN will broadcast the first round of the NCAA Women’s Big East championship, as well as the Women’s Sun Belt semifinals and championship game.
MASN will also carry the Men’s Sun Belt Conference semi-final tournament on March 10th live from the Mitchell Center in Mobile, AL.
In addition to all the games, MASN is the place for college basketball highlights and analysis throughout the season featuring North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Villanova, Rutgers, West Virginia, East Carolina and UNC-Wilmington teams. Weekly coaches’ shows will include Roy Williams (UNC), Sylvia Hatchel (UNC women), Sidney Lowe (NC State) and Benny Moss (UNC Charlotte).
MASN airs over 520 live sporting events every year including over 200 NCAA football, basketball and lacrosse games. MASN televises every available game of the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals and is the only RSN in the country to have 320 live MLB games. MASN is currently carried on twenty-one cable providers throughout a seven-state region to 5.2 million households.
