MASN to Launch Live Blogging Feature
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - MASN, the Official Cable Network of Georgetown Basketball, will offer fans an exciting new feature to complement live television broadcasts. The network will implement live blogging at this Saturday's Georgetown game with Radford. The game will air live on MASN at 7:30 pm from McDonough Arena.
College basketball fans will be able to follow the game at masnsports.com with live, up-to-the-second statistical information, in depth analysis and fan interviews. MASN will continue live blogging at big local games throughout the season.
Led by Coach John Thompson III, the Hoyas enter Saturday's game 7-0 in the season, following last year's NCAA Final Four appearance, the Big East Championship and a 30-7 overall record.
"This is a great opportunity for MASN to connect with sports fans throughout the region by providing more inside access, expert analysis and instant information than ever before," said MASN spokesman Todd Webster. "Fans have a growing presence on the internet. We're excited to be able to share the network with them in this new way."
Additionally, MASN has launched a number of talent-written blogs to complement coverage of Major League Baseball. Already Jim Hunter, Debbi Taylor, Byron Kerr and Buck Martinez have started posting their thoughts about the upcoming season on the MASN website. The talent team will continue to do so throughout the baseball season.
The Official Cable Network of Georgetown, George Mason, and UNC Wilmington, MASN will televise over 180 college basketball games this season, featuring all 13 conferences within the network's seven-state television territory. MASN is also the official regional carrier of the Big East Basketball Game of the Week.
MASN televises every available game of the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals and is the only RSN in the country to have 320 live MLB games. Because of its hometown ownership, MASN is committed to the community and will continue to bring home the best in local sports programming throughout the year.
MASN airs over 520 live sporting events every year including over 200 NCAA football, basketball and lacrosse games. MASN is currently carried on twenty-one cable providers throughout a seven-state region to 5.2 million households.
