Catching Up with Tim Redding
VIERA, FL-- Tim Redding pitched 3 scoreless innings in his Spring Training debut in the Nationals 3-2 win vs. the Dodgers at Space Coast stadium Monday.
Redding's Final Line was: 3 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, K (he also picked up the win)...
After the game he said about his debut...
"I feel good..and the ball is coming out okay--so that's good."
"I always go in [to Spring Training] thinking it's a special year. I feel really good right now. There's no aches...there's no pains."

"I can't sit back on the fact that I had a 3.60 [ERA] last year, I'm gonna keep building."
"I threw some quality pitches out there today...it felt good."
"It could be a special year for me...but it could also be a special year for this team. We acquired alot of guys who can do some things with the bat."
"Guys who can do it year in year out are the ones you remember, I gotta pitch. I hope there is a spot for me in the rotation--but I gotta pitch. I can't stink it up in Spring Training [referencing his struggles last season].
"I think this year is gonna be an eye-opener for alotta guys."
Redding definitely looked sharp today. He was in command of his pitches and threw quite a few first pitch strikes. He is going to be very difficult to take out of the Nationals rotation.
