MASN Partners with The Washington Times to Expand Nats Coverage

Network to feature Times beat reporters Zuckerman and Goessling on regular segments

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- MASN, the television home of the Washington Nationals, has announced a new partnership with The Washington Times to bring fans even more inside insights into the team.

The partnership will bring expert analysis from The Washington Times sports reporters Mark Zuckerman and Ben Goessling to MASN. The reporters will be featured in a regular segment called Hot Corner during MASN's Nationals game coverage. The reporters will also appear frequently on MASN's pre and post game show, Nats Xtra.

The partnership also provides for content sharing of articles, interviews and coverage between The Washington Times and MASN websites.

Mark Zuckerman is a fan-favorite among area sports reporters. He came to The Washington Times in 2001 and covered the Orioles and the Redskins before joining the Nationals beat. Zuckerman hosts chats, answers readers' questions weekly and runs a popular Nationals blog, Chatter, on The Washington Times website.

Ben Goessling joined The Washington Times this year. He previously covered sports and metro news for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He will contribute to Chatter and film periodic video segments with Zuckerman on the Washington Times' website.

"The Washington Times is excited about this new partnership with MASN and to be able feature our talented writers in another media platform. The network has assembled an all-star broadcasting team that provides excellent access to the Nationals," said Times executive editor, John Solomon.

Zuckerman and Goessling will interact with an all-star talent team on MASN throughout the 2008 season including Don Sutton, Bob Carpenter, Debbi Taylor, Ray Knight, Johnny Holliday and Byron Kerr. MASN will produce and air every available Washington Nationals game, with forty in high-definition, as well as a live pre and post-game show for every game.

"The Washington Times is renowned for its excellent sports page and exhaustive Nationals coverage. This new partnership will bring MASN's viewers even closer to the game and adds another dimension to our Nationals coverage," said MASN spokesman Todd Webster.

Founded in 1982, The Washington Times is "America's Newspaper" and a premier spot for the best local sports reporting in the region.
