2008 Orioles Radio Partners
The Orioles today announced a partnership with Richmond, Virginia radio station WLEE 990 AM that adds the Richmond news-talk station to the Orioles Radio Network. The partnership officially begins on Tuesday, when WLEE begins broadcasting Orioles games and kicks off a series of season-long promotions.
The Orioles Radio Network has tripled in size since the start of the 2006 season. There are now 30 stations in the Orioles Radio Network, covering Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. WLEE marks the eighth new addition for 2008 and the eighth affiliated station in Virginia.
"We are pleased to add WLEE to the family of stations in the Orioles Radio Network," said Orioles Director of Communications Greg Bader. "The Orioles have always had a strong following in Richmond, and throughout Virginia, and this partnership gives O's fans in the area another opportunity to follow the team when they aren't able to make it to Camden Yards."
