ORIOLES SELECT CONTRACT OF INF ALEX CINTRON
The Orioles today announced that they have selected the contract of INF Alex Cintron from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned RHP Bob McCrory to Norfolk. The Orioles now have a full 40-man roster.
Cintron, 29, was batting .288 (19-66) in 16 games with Norfolk. He was signed by the Orioles as a minor league free agent on March 31. Cintron is a career .277 (525-1897) hitter in 598 Major League games in time with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2001-2005) and the Chicago White Sox (2006-2007).
McCrory, 26, was recalled for the first time on April 29. He made back-to-back appearances on April 30 and May 1, pitching a total of 0.2 innings and allowing 4 earned runs on 2 hits and 4 walks
