MASN Wins 2 Emmys, 2 AMA Awards
MASN, the local leader in live sports entertainment, recently won two Emmy awards and two AMA awards. Both awards recognize excellence in television marketing throughout the region.
The Emmys were awarded for MASN's Orioles player Match-Up promotions featuring Miguel Tejada, Brian Roberts and Corey Patterson, (in the category Promotion - Program - Campaign) and for the critically acclaimed "Honeybear" spot featuring Nick Markakis (in the category Promotion - Image - Station).
The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences celebrated its 50th annual award ceremony on June 14th at the Ritz Carlton in Washington DC. The Chapter recognizes outstanding achievements in television production throughout Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC.
Additionally, MASN won two awards from the American Marketing Association. The network claimed the prestigious 2008 Marketing Excellence Awards for MASN's network launch campaign in 2007. The network also received a runner-up honor for its campaign for carriage in North Carolina.
According to the AMA, "the Marketing Excellence Award is given each year to an individual or organization that plans and implements the best regional marketing campaign and can demonstrate the campaign's success with measurable results...The Award is heavily weighted on the results of a marketing campaign and recognizes not only the most creative, integrated marketing campaigns, but also celebrates true concept-to-completion success stories."
The 25th annual AMA awards were presented on June 12th at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. This is the first time in the Baltimore Chapter's history that one agency or client has taken both the award and the runner-up honors.
MASN's award-winning advertising spots were developed and written by creative director Dick Goggin. The "Honeybear" and "Drop & Drive" spots were created with the inspiration and talent of The Martin Agency and edited by Shooters, Inc.
In April, the network won 11 local and 4 regional ADDY Awards. MASN is the television home of both the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals and provides maximum access to both teams.
