Adam Jones scratched from lineup
O's center fielder Adam Jones was a late scratch from the lineup on Sunday due to an injured ankle. His foot hit first base in an awkward manner in the second inning of Saturday night's game, and Jones came up injured, although he finished the contest.
"He was in the original lineup, and I scratched him," manager Dave Trembley said. "He rolled that ankle and there is some swelling this morning,"
Trembley said they would have a better understanding of the extent of the injury on Monday.
With Jones out, the O's lose a hot hitter and top defender. Over his last 19 games, he is batting .365 with a homer and 13 RBI. Jones is hitting .321 since June first, raising his average from .245 to .280.
