Closer pitching in with rookie
| | Comments (0)

Over the weekend the struggling Roger Bernandina got some batting tips from the unlikeliest of sources: Nats closer Jon Rauch.

"He noticed opposing pitchers are pounding the strike zone against me," Bernadina said. "He said I should get off the plate."

Naturally, the rookie said he'd heed the advice of his veteran teammate.

"He's been in the league a few years, of course I'll take his advice," Bernadina said.
It helped he picked up a few hits in the final two games of the Cincy Series.
