Nationals Reinstate Lastings Milledge from DL
Following today's game, the Washington Nationals recalled outfielder Lastings Milledge from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus and reinstated him from the 15-Day Disabled List. Catcher Johnny Estrada was designated for assignment. Nationals Senior Vice President and General Manager Jim Bowden made this announcement.
Milledge has missed the last 20 games, after he was placed on the DL on June 28 with a right groin injury. He went 2-for-17 with one home run and three RBI in five games during his rehab time with Columbus and the Nationals' Gulf Coast League affiliate. The 23-year-old has batted .245 with 16 doubles, seven home runs, 32 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 80 games with the Nationals this season.
Estrada, 32, batted .170 with four RBI in 23 games with Washington. He missed 69 games this season due to a right elbow injury.
