Nationals Reinstate Ryan Zimmerman from DL
The Washington Nationals today recalled third baseman Ryan Zimmerman from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus and reinstated him from the 15-Day Disabled List. Nationals Senior Vice President and General Manager Jim Bowden made this announcement.
Zimmerman, 23, batted .278 with 11 doubles, eight home runs and 27 RBI in 50 games with the Nationals, before going on the Disabled List on June 3 (retroactive to May 26) with a small labral tear in his left shoulder. He hit a combined .280 (7-for-25) with three doubles, one home run and three RBI in six games during his rehab stints with Columbus and Single-A Potomac.
