Nats Partner with Tickets.com to Host Ticket Technology Days
The Washington Nationals, in conjunction with Tickets.com, will host Ticket Technology Days during the Nationals games on Friday, July 11th at 7:35 p.m. and Saturday, July 12th at 7:10 p.m. against the Houston Astros. The event will showcase Added Value tickets, Mobile Phone tickets, and other current ticketing technology available to both season and single ticket holders.
When purchasing tickets in select seating areas at Nationals Park, fans will have additional value on their tickets. This added value can be redeemed at any concession or merchandise location inside Nationals Park. The technology is enabled by Tickets.com, a leading provider of ticketing solutions, and is just one of many advanced ticketing technologies in place at Nationals Park.
Tickets.com's Chief Commercial Officer Derek Palmer states, "This technology will contribute to the Nationals' effort to provide the best fan experience by virtually eliminating the need to carry cash or credit cards inside the ballpark."
In addition to a hands-on demonstration of Added Value tickets, the event will also showcase My Nationals Tickets, an online management tool designed for season ticket holders to easily manage and track their use of tickets throughout the season on nationals.com. Tickets@Phone™, introduced in 2007 for the Nationals regular season, will also be demonstrated, as well as Tickets@Home®, a feature that allows ticket holders to print their own tickets, and Nationals Ticket Kiosks.
"We strive to provide our fans with many convenient options to enhance their trip to the ballpark," said Derek Younger, Director of Ticket Operations, Washington Nationals. "Technologies like Added Value tickets, My Nationals Tickets, Tickets@Phone, and Tickets@Home help us provide a superior customer experience and allow fans to purchase tickets and merchandise quickly and conveniently. Events like Ticket Technology Days give us an opportunity to educate our fans and showcase all of the cutting-edge technology we have to offer at Nationals Park."
Fans can visit the Nationals Ticket Technology Days event at the Nationals Park Center Field Plaza. Tickets.com staff will be on hand when the gates open, 5:05 pm on Friday and 4:40 pm on Saturday, through the 4th inning. Fans that stop by the event for a personal demonstration will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of MLB.com.
Tickets for the 2008 season are available at nationals.com, by calling 888-632-6287, or by visiting any of the following participating outlets located throughout the Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland areas: Bradford Banks, CD Game Exchange, and Olsson's Books & Records.
