Walker struggles at Bowie
In a game that started Thursday morning at 11, Jamie Walker pitched and allowed three runs in the seventh inning for Bowie in its game with Harrisburg. Walker allowed 5 hits, 3 runs, all earned, with no walks or strikeouts. After giving up a three-run homer to Seth Bynum, he allowed two more hits. His inning ended on a line drive double play.
I did not see the game, but those numbers certainly don't sound encouraging. Before Thursday's O's game Dave Trembley said they would have to see how Walker felt the day after pitching before determining the next move.
Walker has been out since June 26th with left elbow inflammation. Earlier this week, after facing live hitters here at Camden Yards, Walker said his elbow felt fine.
On the season, Walker is 1-0, 4.98 in 37 games covering 21 2/3.
