A farewell to arms and shoulders?
Just wanted to make sure I had this straight: The Orioles don't know what's wrong with Daniel Cabrera's arm, and the Ravens aren't telling anyone what's wrong with Kyle Boller's shoulder?
Or is it the other way around?
No, I had it right the first time.
I'm not in Tampa for the three-game series against the first-place Rays - the team with the best record in the American League, if you can believe it. Cabrera might throw a light side session to test his right forearm, which apparently is causing him some discomfort, though an MRI didn't reveal any structural damage.
He's scheduled to start tomorrow night, but could have his turn pushed back to Sunday. Or five days later. We're at the mercy of his arm, and his cryptic hints about his health.
Meanwhile, we know Ravens quarterback Troy Smith is receiving intravenous fluids to combat a tonsil infection. But how badly is Boller hurt?
Asked if Boller has a tear in his shoulder, coach John Harbaugh said: "The great thing about it is, I don't think I have to give out that information at this time. So, we'll get to you at another time."
Maybe I'm just the suspicious type, but that sounds like a "yes" to me. Otherwise, it would have been a whole lot easier to say "no."
I wrote earlier about the Double-A Bowie Baysox having home-field advantage in their upcoming Eastern League playoff series against Akron. Single-game tickets are on sale. Go to www.baysox.com.

so. perfect. i'm headed to AKR to watch the B-Sox kick the crap outta them. AKR is not the same team they were in the first half, so look for a lot less offense on their end.
i plan on being in BAL for the tribe series next month. i will call it the "school of roch, cleveland campus" field trip to the yard.
drinks on jennifer. :P
(c'mon, she's got the mad hookup, y'all!)
Outside but fun topic, if you had to choose an all prospect team from current prospects still in the minors, how would that list look? Without too much investigating I would go:
C- Matt Weiters
1B- Brandon Snyder
2B- LJ Hoey
3B- Billy Rowell
SS- Blake Davis
OF- Nolan Reimold
OF- Xavier Avery
OF- ???
SP- Brian Matusz
SP- Jake Arietta
SP- Chris Tillman
SP- Brad Bergesen
SP- Brandon Erbe
CP- James Hoey
Obviously a lot more starting pitching than offensive options.
I had a half torn labrum that did not show up on an xray OR on an MRI... the surgeon found it "looking around" while fixing the other issues. Just because nothing is showing up on an MRI doesn't mean nothing is wrong in his houlder.
Boller has some luck huh?
Roch-
I am lucky to be heading to Tampa for Saturday & Sunday's games. This is an advantage to having a girlfriend whose parents live in that area. I plan my visits accordingly.
Is Cal thinking buying the Rays(team)?
