A little intrigue (update)

Luis Montanez - who prefers to go by "Lou" this season - had two at-bats tonight with Double-A Bowie, going 1-for-2 with a run scored. Sebastien Boucher pinch-hit for Montanez and replaced him in right field.

Could Montanez be headed to Anaheim?

The Orioles say they won't have any updates on Adam Jones tonight after he underwent a CT scan earlier in the day.

Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Mark Viviano, who's subbing for MASN "sideline" reporter Amber Theoharis, confirms that pitcher Chris Waters reported to the ballpark today and was told to go back to the team hotel. The Orioles apparently will wait until tomorrow to announce the roster move, which likely will involve shortstop Brandon Fahey.

Also, Bowie's Chris Tillman struck out 11 batters in six innings.

That's what I call inside information. Chris Waters tomorrows starter? What's his backstory?

Waters was a 5th round pick by the Braves in 2000 out of South Florida Community College. The O's signed him in '07. He did well at Bowie but his Norfolk stats are unimpressive: 3-6, 5.70, 1.56 WHIP, 97 hits, 72 K, 43 walks in 90 innings pitched. Apparently, though, he's been pitching better of late.
