All body parts covered...
| | Comments (0)

You could draw a picture of the human body and nearly all its parts would be represented by Nats injures.

Starting with the leg, Elijah Dukes is out with a calf strain, and he suffered a knee injury earlier in the season, as well as a hamstring inury.

Alberto Gonzales is sidelined with a sore left glut, covering the butt area. Lastings Milledge had a right groin pull. Wily Mo Pena suffered a left oblique (rib) strain.

Paul Lo Duca was sidelined with a broken hand. Nick Johnson had a tendon repaired in his wrist. Shawn Hill was bothered by his right forearm. Matt Chico had floating bodies removed from his left elbow. Ryan Zimmerman was on the DL with a small labral tear in his left shoulder.

Aaron Boone had pain in his neck (although this didn't land him on the DL as his calf injury later did). Odalis Perez had a tooth ache while he was pitching and Tim Redding had severe headaches during his last start.

So, as you can see the Nats have been hit head to toe with injuries all season long.... Well, actually the toe hasn't been an issue and let's hope it stays that way!

Injury Bug Updates...
Cristian Guzman has made progress with his injured hand and he's expected to be in the starting lineup on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Elijah Dukes is headed to the disabled list again, this time with a right calf strain. Garrett Mock will be recalled to pitch out of the bullpen.

Rain, Rain Go Away and Let's Play Two!
The Nats will play two on Thursday with Jason Bergmann pitching the first of the twin bill against Jeff Francis and Odalis Perez (who was scheduled to pitch Wednesday night) taking the mound in the second game against Ubaldo Jimenez. Game one will start at 3:05 p.m. and game two will take place about 20 minutes later. "I like day games, they're fun," Bergmann said before leaving the clubhouse Wednesday night.
