Bonifacio is here to stay; Mock will be back
The Nationals officially announced that second baseman Emilio Bonifacio was recalled from Triple-A Columbus prior to Friday night's game with the Cincinnati Reds.
To make room for Bonifacio on the roster, right-handed pitcher Garrett Mock was optioned to Columbus.
Bonifacio, who was acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for right-handed pitcher Jon Rauch on July 22, appeared in eight games with Columbus and batted .452 with two doubles, three RBI, four stolen bases.
Bonifacio didn't know he would be with the Nationals this quick, but he's happy to be here.
