Injury updates
Today's favorite headline: Burger King Worker Fired For Bath Video Stunt
I know there's a super-sized joke in there somewhere.
Hayden Penn is tentatively scheduled to start on Monday for Triple-A Norfolk, but it depends on how his right shoulder feels today and tomorrow.
The Tides were off yesterday. Penn, whose last turn was skipped, is supposed to throw today.
Penn is reporting that the shoulder is better. Keep those fingers crossed.
Meanwhile, Single-A Delmarva left-hander Tony Butler, acquired in the Erik Bedard trade, remains on the disabled list with a tired arm. That's as close as the Orioles can come to describing the injury. They can only go by what Butler tells them.
He went on the DL last year with the same problem. Each time he gets to the point where it appears that he's ready to pitch a simulated game, he says his arm doesn't feel right.
If Delmarva's season ends before Butler is ready to pitch, he'll be assigned to the fall instructional league.

My shoulder hurts, too, but is feeling better. Can I pitch for Norfolk next week, too?
Roch, I got to tell you the name of your blog is weak, the old one was great, so I might suggest you call this one "A chip of the old Roch" or maybe to group two number ones together call it "Roch and Rowell" ( I believe I heard the kid say he pronounces his name roll) "Skipping Rochs" you know how you skip a thought out there and then watch the ripples (responses) radiate out. Based on this baseball season and to honor F.L Wright "Crumbling Rochs."
Just a start of ideas, have a contest and give the winner something great like a Roch bobble head doll.
I am sure your dauhger has some great things she has called you over the years.
this is best i can find for US Baseball:

Arrieta is expected to start the fourth game of pool play.
Rays phenom David Price (11-0, 1.89 ERA in 15 A+ & AA starts) starts for the AAA Durham Bulls tonight against our fighting Norfolk Tides. Wish I could go, but I have other obligations this evening. We'll see Price in September for the Rays, no doubt.
Satyr - Guthrie pitches tonight.
Cal - MacPhail was very clear last summer when he took the job and several times since that he does not believe in spending money on free agent pitchers.
Roch- Riddle me this...The o's are probably looking at a top 12 pick next year as it is right? So, if they do not sign Matusz, they get an additional pick #5? 2 First Rounders? If not, then no matter how you look at it, they lose out by not getting Matusz signed.
Tell Butler to rub some dirt on it & get going!
Roch - Any idea when/if Jake Arrieta will pitch for team USA?

I've actually been getting my Jake Arrieta updates from the readers of this blog. I'm hoping somebody jumps in and answers your question (hint, hint). - Roch
Hey Roch the real deal would have been a bath in the grease vat. great blog.
Hey Roch, it is hard to imagine somebody wanting to take a bubble bath in a sink at Burger King. And, smiling in the video and moving around in the tub (sink) just like it was party time. Keep up man, you keep me laughing.
