Kearns lands on DL with stress fracture
Austin Kearns was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday with a stress fracture in his left foot. The move is retro active to August 25th.
Kearns, according to the Nationals, originally injured his foot on August 3rd. That means the Kearns was playing with the stress fracture for more than three weeks. Since the original injury occurred, Kearns appeared in 19 games and had 68 at bats.
This is his second stint on the DL this season. Kearns missed 38 games from May 22nd thru July 3rd after having surgery to remove loose bodies from his right elbow on May 23. Kearns, who is having a down season, is batting .217 with 10 doubles, seven home runs and 32 RBI in 86 games this season with Washington.
