More on Castro
I must have jinxed the guy.
Shortstop Juan Castro left the game with a mild groin strain.
It's only mild when it happens to somebody else.
Daniel Cabrera didn't allow a run in six innings. He gave up four hits, walked three and struck out three. He's out of the game after running his pitch count to 102.
Tonight's attendance: 30,914.
The first 3,000 fans 55 and over who attend tomorrow's game will receive an Orioles hand-held fan. The kind that cools you off.

Hand held fan? That is a good one. I thought the Orioles are giving out babies.
Roch,
Castro is the real deal defensively and if he can play every game the rest of the season as far as I am concerned. Anything he hits is just gravy. I hope he plays tomorrow so we can win on a Sunday. With him, the Orioles will get over .500 this season.
Handheld fans? Is this in honor of the Olympics?
Castro looks good. He's a keeper. Michael P is the white Tiger Woods. The Mac movie was very funny. Better then sex [ Not.] I will start holding my breath around 1pm. If Waters [ It's gonna be hard ] goes 5+ innings, it will make us all happy. Roch, your from the Park, I'm from
Marley Creek area but could you please put to rest and ask how he pronounces his last name? The Bowie PA guy said it different. Did Hunter and the rest of the play by play team ever ask him ?
MON TAUNYEZZ. Not MON TA NEZZ. Thanks. Wieters is the hotest thing we've had in a long time. Billy R is still in college. Time for a drink.
Hey Roch, glad to see you on MASN - the blog must go on, and I'm sure the powers that be appreciate the increased traffic from a blogger of your stature, to say nothing of the high quality of the heavy volume of entries - keep up the great work!
I was very impressed with Cabrera's command tonight - it looked like he's modified his delivery a bit, clearing his body a little more and coming from a slightly lower arm angle. Did anyone else pick up on this, or am I smoking something impure? 102 pitches in 6 scoreless...sounds like a Bedard line, eh?
Have to love the groove our offense is in right now; Castro fulfilled his hit requirement for a month with 3 today, anything from here on is a bonus, especially with the way he can pick it.
Good point Jeff.
I distinctly read that as hand held fan as in a very small person who roots for the Orioles. I think I've been reading you too long Roch.

Ha! Hey man, don't blame me! - Roch
Hate him or not, I suspect Cabrera will remain an integral part of this staff for another year or two. There are probably fewer of us than ever (myself remaining one) who believe he can still harness that talent and turn a corner. He remains an inning eater, though, a job originally entrusted to Trachsel. If the rest of the staff improves and a couple of more kids come along, Cabrera may eventually slip down to a number four or five starter where a true innings-eater belongs. If there is still no improvement, then it'll be time to cut him loose. Six shutout innings tonight was nice. The 102 pitches was ugly. Nice and ugly... kind of sums it up, doesn't it?
Do the O's need anything to cool them off on a Sunday?
