Orioles on rehab
Chris Ray pitched the sixth inning tonight at Single-A Frederick and allowed a home run to the first batter he faced, Lynchburg's Brian Friday. Ray was charged with two runs and three hits in one inning, though his velocity, which was good, is a more accurate barameter of his progress.
Ray is scheduled to throw one inning at Aberdeen on Friday.
Greg Aquino pitched a scoreless seventh, allowing one hit and striking out two. He's also scheduled to throw an inning at Aberdeen on Friday.
Brandon Tripp hit his 15th homer in the 11-5 loss. Jake Renshaw (9-11) allowed seven runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings, walking four and striking out three.

Glad to see Trembley manage the game for the win and not take the lead for granted. We all know how that can go against these guys.
The Orioles are now a mere 10 victories short of my 71 win prediction. Hope they get there in 15 games.
I was at the Keys game. The home run off Ray was a blast. There was no doubt it was going out. It looked like he was throwing mainly fastballs.
Speaking of rehab, I see where Sidney Ponson is coming off his 4th straight quality start for the boys from the Bronx. He sits now with a fairly decent 7-4 record. Sir Sid is scheduled to start on Thursday against Roy Halladay and the Blue Jays, so barring a major rotation resuffle we will not get to see him waddle out to the mound here at the Yard.
