Ravens trade for DE Douglas; release Cody
Just one day after placing defensive end Dwan Edwards on injured reserve, the Ravens filled his spot on the line, trading two draft picks to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Marques Douglas.
To make room for Douglas on the roster, the Ravens waived former second-round pick Dan Cody.

Douglas' name might sound familiar, as the eight-year verteran has had two seperate stints in the Purple and Black. He signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 1999 and after a year in New Orleans, came back to Baltimore from 2001-2004.
Douglas spent the last three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, and had a career year in 2007, starting all 16 games and posting a career-high 100 tackles.
In return for Douglas, Tampa Bay will receive a late-round draft choice in 2009 and a conditional pick in 2010.
Douglas had signed a four-year, $10.1 million contract with Tampa Bay this offseason, which the Ravens will now pick up.
"We're really happy to get a quality player who is also a quality person back to our team, especially this time of year," General Manager Ozzie Newsome said.
Cody was never able to overcome an unfortunate string of injuries that kept him off the playing field for most of his career. The linebacker has had problems with both knees, and broke his foot last year.
He saw some playing time at the end of Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, which was his first game action since November of 2006.
