Reed could miss season opener
A couple of weeks ago, head coach John Harbaugh expressed confidence that injured safety Ed Reed would be fully healthy and ready to play by the team's regular season opener on Sept 7. Now, he's not so sure.
Harbaugh admitted today that Reed's injured shoulder is progressing a little slower than the team had expected it to, and the former Defensive Player of the Year may not be in game shape by the time the Ravens take the field against the Cincinatti Bengals to start the season.
"I think it's a little more slow progress than maybe we all thought it was going to be," Harbuagh said. "Maybe Ed had a sense of that at one time, because he's the guy that feels it. We're still optimistic that it's going to be the first week, but I don't think you can say 'definitely' right now."
