The Orioles have optioned reliever Kam Mickolio to Triple-A Norfolk and will recall left-hander Brian Burres tomorrow.

Burres is already in Baltimore and will start tomorrow.

Mickolio appeared in two games and pitched one inning, allowing an earned run and four hits, with two strikeouts. He also threw a wild pitch that let the tying run score.

The demotion wasn't jarring news for Mickolio.

"I'm taking it as it is. It's no big deal. It happens. I'm not taking it too hard," he said.

It's much easier to accept when you know that you'll be returning on Sept. 1. Mickolio already has been assured of it.

"It feels good knowing they want me back and I have a future for me," he said. "I'm happy."

Manager Dave Trembley sees Mickolio as a power arm who will be very effective against right-handed hitters.

"I think he has a real big upside as a guy at the backend of the bullpen in some capacity," Trembley said. "He's raw, he needs work, but there's definitely a lot to work with there. I think he'll be a very effective pitcher for us in the bullpen with more experience."

That is the best you can come up with Roch? Boy, I might as well read the sun's blogs for this type of coverage.

I am kidding, as you know you are awesome Roch.

Very funny. I went back and re-filed the quote about 10 seconds after I hit the send button, getting rid of the repetitious stuff. You're too fast for me (that's what she said). - Roch

All I can say is "AAARRGGHH!" (which is alot nicer than what the wife had to say when I told her Burres was coming back up)

roch, maybe you could give us a post in the next few days updating the overall records for each of the affiliates, and a general summary of how each level performed this year. I really appreciate the more frequent MASN posts + all of the work that you have been putting to keep us up to date, on the O's and the minors. Thanks!

Prepare yourself for another typical Brian Burres performance. Putting Waters and Burres back to back.

That's a no-no where I come from.

Roch- Blake Davis has made some good strides offensively wouldn't you say?

I'd definitely say so. - Roch

An Office joke Roch (in your comment to Rob B)?! You really ARE the best blogger in town.

Ha! Glad you liked it, Heathir. By the way, I've been meaning to ask, what's with the unique spelling of your first name? And this is R-O-C-H asking you this question. Just curious. - Roch

I'm a couple of days late here. Lindsey pointed this out to me, haha.

The i in my name is kind of a stupid story, actually. Years ago a friend and I were talking about how many Heathers there were in our school. We joked around about changing the spelling so I could stand out and it just kept going from there. He started spelling it that way (actually, he'd spell it different crazy ways, but the i stuck for some reason) and then it caught on with a lot of my friends. In middle/high school it seemed completely awesome... Now that I'm out of college I'm just like "wow we were stupid kids", but my friends I've known for years still spell it with an i, and when online, it does it purposes of being unique when posting on blogs and message boards.

Now... how'd your mother come up with Roch?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wish my story was an entertaining as yours. Thanks for responding! My mom used to babysit a "Roch" where she grew up in Ford City, Pa. She liked it so much, she said that if she had a son, she'd give him the same name. Before that, it was going to be Eric. So here I am: Roch Eric Kubatko. - Roch
