Welcome to the Cheap Seats
Welcome to the cheap seats everybody!--where the sun is hot, the hot dogs are juicy, and the beer is cold...well, if you were at the ballpark.
This is a little different. The cheap seats we watch the game from are even farther away than Row QQ in the Upper Deck at Camden Yards--try Exit 20A off of Interstate 83.
They're the really cheap seats, the row where the Production Assistants (PA's) sit at the MASN TV studios in Hunt Valley. But this is where all the good stuff goes down.
Now, the intention of this blog is not to update you on team information; it won't have breaking news; and it won't provide expert evaluation. Nope, this blog is strictly for entertainment, to take you behind the scenes of the MASN studios and allow you to lend an ear to the jarring and the jabbing that goes on around here.
And in case you get sick of my opinion, don't worry, we will be bringing you a variety of perspectives from everyone on the O's and Nats Xtra staff who has an opinion.
First thing's first, my name is Fred Genau, and this is my second year as a PA on the O's Xtra staff here at MASN. The "Cheap Seats" analogy was created early last year as a joke, because it's an area where everyone who didn't have a desk sat to watch the game.
So now that you know a little about me and just what the Cheap Seats are, feel free to stop in often and make this blog your internet water cooler. The more posts, ideas, and comments from everyone else, the better this blog will be. So check it out; let me know I'm an idiot when you disagree with me; and sit back and enjoy the rest of the baseball season way up there in the Cheap Seats.
