A little pre-game snack
The rotation for the Indians series that begins on Monday:
Garrett Olson, Jeremy Guthrie, Chris Waters and Radhames Liz.
Manager Dave Trembley doesn't sound concerned about Jim Johnson, saying the reliever is just having trouble getting loose, but there isn't a serious tear in the shoulder. The latest MRI pretty much matched an earlier one from spring training, except for the inflammation.
"Not surprising," Trembley said. "(Head athletic trainer) Richie Bancells has kept me updated and said he's felt that he needed some rest. Just wear and tear, so we're going to rest him. I don't think there's anything particular to be alarmed about with Johnson, other than his shoulder is sore."
Johnson is supposed to rest for two weeks, so there's no point trying to get him back on the mound. By the time he'd be ready to pitch in a game, the season would be over.
Trembley said none of the coaches have told him that they're not coming back next season or need more time to think about it, so he expects everyone to rejoin the staff in 2009.

They're letting Hafner play again for Akron tonight - and he's got another home run. Seriously? How is this fair? Do you know if Bowie can protest this Roch?

Apparently, it's within the rules. - Roch
i don't know if it was so much "letting" him play, rather than "letting" him carry out his rehab assignment. to see the other side of the story... i wouldn't complain if we were "letting" huff or roberts or louuuuuuuuu play for them on a rehab assignment.
(oh jeeeez, did i just jinx them?)
