Getting ready for Game 1
Good afternoon - and a quick glance at the clock tells me that morning has passed. But I'm still here and in one piece, at least the last time I checked.
I'm in full recovery mode after last night's post-rainout birthday bash at Sliders.
You know it's a good time when you hear, "Drink up and get out!"
Or maybe that just means you've worn out your welcome.
It's so good to have Joe Christensen, my former tag-team partner at The Sun, and Gary Washburn, formerly of MLB.com, back in town for the weekend. It doesn't get much better than those two guys, as I was reminded again last night. Good times.
And no, I'm NOT 50 years old. It was a joke that, fortunately for me, was played while the game was not. The fewer people who saw it, the better.
Anyway, I'm heading to Camden Yards in a few minutes and I'll post the lineups for Game 1 as soon as they become available. I'm also taping a segment for a future installment of O's Xtra that should be pretty amusing.
I'll be interviewing Dennis Sarfate and Aubrey Huff, the two first-time fathers on the team -letting them swap stories and perhaps offer each other a little advice. Feel free to pass along some questions that you think would enhance the segment.
Just a reminder that MASN can't televise the first two hours of Game 1 because of the league's blackout window that runs from 1:05 p.m. to 7:05 p.m. The network will join the game in progress.

So when does Os xtra come on... I have a radio and MLB.com gameday on my iPod so if anything happens I will know... Also that interview is going to be interresting... But I have a Question what is sarfates babys name? I know huffs...

No O's Xtra pre-game today because MASN will join the first game in progress. Usually it's 30 minutes before every game. Sarfate's daughter is Kinsley. - Roch
Ask either of them what he thinks about when he's the one holding the baby at 3:00 a.m. and it seems like everyone else in the world is asleep.
Ask them if they'd want their kids to grow up to be a baseball writer.
