Guthrie throwing
Jeremy Guthrie is pitching his simulated game after throwing in the outfield and warming up on the mound. Guillermo Quiroz, Brandon Fahey and Omir Santos are the hitters.
Guthrie is attracting a crowd. Pitching coach Rick Kranitz and bullpen coach Alan Dunn are standing beside the mound, and Double-A Bowie pitching coach Mike Griffin has been stationed behind it and near the cage.
Pitchers Lance Cormier, Brian Burres, Kam Mickolio and Bob McCrory are leaning against the railing in front of the home dugout. Pitcher Chris Waters stood at first base until bench coach Dave Jauss moved him away, probably guarding against a freak injury.
First base coach John Shelby and third base coach Juan Samuel stood along the first base line during the initial warm-up. Manager Dave Trembley and hitting coach Terry Crowley remain behind the cage.
Guthrie is taking a break, as if he completed his half of an inning and is waiting in the dugout while the Orioles bat. I hope to interview him when he's finished.

Good post, I really like hearing stuff like this.
I don't understand why the Orioles would pitch Guthrie again this year...he would only be making one start and we're in last place without a chance to move into 4th place and if there were a 6th, 7th, or 8th place, we're be descending like a bullet (isn't that what they say in the "record business").
What concerns me is that two years in a row he has broken down in the last month of the season (he appears to be in excellent shape). Okay, maybe I'm being an optimist, but suppose we reach the post-season next year?
"Guillermo Quiroz, Brandon Fahey and Omir Santos are the hitters."
I think you meant batters not hitters. Hitters require contact with the ball.
