Now we know the secret
The Orioles can't win on Sundays, so make it an off-day and watch them destroy an opponent on Monday night.
Too bad it took this long to figure out.
The Orioles have scored 12 runs in the last three innings, four coming on Aubrey Huff's grand slam in the sixth. Adam Jones and Ramon Hernandez have gone deep in a five-run eighth.
Fans were chanting "Huff, Huff, Huff" when he stepped to the plate in the eighth, and he lined a single up the middle. He's batting .316 with 44 doubles, 31 homers and 102 RBIs.
If anyone still believes that he shouldn't be voted Most Valuable Oriole, I'll gladly listen to your argument. It won't sway me, but I'm all ears.
My biggest challenge is deciding second and third place.

Has to be
2- Guthrie
3- Roberts
OMG i am so glad to huff back! he is the spark that we have been missing these past few days!! how long do we have his signed on for?

One more year. - Roch
Huff may have a real shot at winning the batting title. Pedroia(.328), Bradley(.327), and Mauer(.326) are all hitting well, but if Aubrey can continue the streak he's on right now, who knows. A couple of weeks ago he was right at .300. Pretty incredible that he comes out tonight, after four days of doing nothing baseball related, and gets three hits, including a grand slam.
Isn't this the second time this season the O's have homered for the cycle? My vote for MVO is Dave Trembley because he hasn't pistol whipped any of the starters yet, the man has the patience of a saint. Personally, I'd be bald by now, okay MORE bald. Seriously though, how can Huff NOT be the MVO, runner-up is a toss up between B-Rob and Nick-Mark.
Huff gets my MVO vote.
Ok fine he's convinced me but, I'll consider him a Horse***t MVO.
Huff is definitely the MVO. I'd like to see him back next season and see if he can replicate these numbers. Given that he'll be a free agent after that, I think we can expect a good year.
I would think Huff would get some consideration for AL MVP too. I'm not saying he wins it, but finishing in the top 10 should be a lock without any clear cut winner this year.
According to the Winning Probability Added statistic:
1. Aubrey Huff
2. Brian Roberts
3. Jim Johnson
4. Jeremy Guthrie
5. Nick Markakis
6. Melvin Mora
And then the rest of the team doesn't even come close to them for value added.
