Olson's early arrival
Players aren't required to be here today until noon, a later report time than normal, but understandable given yesterday's doubleheader.
I was here by 9:15 a.m., but that's just the way I'm made.
The lineups haven't been posted yet. The door to manager Dave Trembley's office is closed.
I walked into the clubhouse at 10 a.m. and found Garrett Olson sitting in the video room, presumably studying tape of last night's start. It won't take long, of course. My MASN commercial lasted longer.
I'd hope that Olson was comparing last night's outing to previous ones, when he had more success and gave us hope that he was ready to become a fulltime member of the starting rotation - whether in the middle or backend.
Perhaps he can find a glitch in his delivery. Or maybe it's more of a mental issue that won't necessarily show up on video.
Catcher Guillermo Quiroz and reliever Alberto Castillo also reported early today.
I'm heading back downstairs. My interview with Dennis Sarfate and Aubrey Huff for O's Xtra was postponed until today because of the doubleheader.

Olson probably came in early to make sure he still had a locker. I can deal with losing since it's a rebuilding year but these pitchers are hard to watch day after day. I know if I was getting my butt kicked every day I'd have to move some hitters around, throw underhanded, try a knuckleball, something. Bergesen or Hernandez couldn't be as bad as these guys.
At least the Maryland game was entertaining.
I think the Ravens got screwed. The NFL has moved many other games for different reasons but now they take away the bye week in the middle of the schedule? Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was a hurricane. If you live near the coast or in a low lying area you have to expect that once in a while. Reminds me of the people that built houses near an active volcano and wondered why their house was on fire.
My draft for my sons flag football team is tomorrow. I need an assistant coach. Any volunteers?
