Ravens not helping Flacco out
Joe Flacco is doing a great job of managing the Ravens offense. He's anticipating throws, doing a good job of buying time by rolling out of the pocket, and making smart decisions with the football.
Now if only his teammates would help him out a little.
On Flacco's first NFL completion, Todd Heap picked up a first down and then fumbled the ball away.
Early in the second quarter, Mark Clayton dropped a pass that he would tell you he should have brought in. On the Ravens' next drive, Flacco threw a ball that hit Ray Rice right in the hands. Rice bobbled it a couple times, and it fell to the turf.
If Rice had made the catch, he had plenty of room to run.
The Ravens offense needs to do a better job of making plays for their QB and making his job easier.
On the plus side, the coaches don't look to be holding anything back from Flacco. They're letting him air it out and take chances down the field.
