Under normal circumstances I would have driven the two hours to catch last night's(two for the price of one) games. Thank goodness I decided against it. In watching parts of both games one can't help but feel sorry for guys like Brian Roberts, Aubrey Huff, and Nick Markakis. Markakis especially is the epitome of a focused player. The ball he hit into the gap last night in game two would have been a single for many O's players at this point, but he ran hard the whole time and when Gomez slipped after cutting the ball off, he sprinted hard to 2nd base.

As dissappointing as it is, I can't see Roberts wanting to sign an extension during the off-season and this last month could change Markakis' thinking as well. Hopefully, the team didn't miss on a great chance(maybe their only) to sign him to an extension earlier this season.

As for Olson, his problems are two-fold right now. Ability wise he is not a major leagurer. As I have stated here several times before you can't get away with being a high ball pitcher in the majors when you only throw 90-91. Secondly, he's a wreck mentally. He was muttering to himself again as he walked off the field last night. Not a good sign.

As for starting pitching why not go back to Cormier/Sarfate combo that was so successful a couple of weeks ago against the Red Sox. It's the best we have had to offer in a month yet Trembley wouldn't go back to it.

BTW we now have the sixth worse record in baseball. I'm predicting we finish fourth.

Roch - One advantage of not going to the game last night was that I was able to see SNL. You must see Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. She's a dead-ringer.

why are they playing ramon after last night??

and just because oscar had a good night doesnt mean be will bounce back and have a good day.

but hopefully today DT doesnt put a pinch-hitter in today for someone who doesnt need one.

Hey Roch!
Love how you are here, I always look forward to the lineups and your wonderful updates on the games! Just saw a part of the interview with Aubrey and Dennis on the pregame show. It was super funny! Tell me they are going to put the whole thing on the video blogs soon.

Thanks. And I sure hope so. - Roch
