It starts with a bad call
Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference in the end, but the roughing call on Terrell Suggs for a phantom blow to the head of Titans quarterback Kerry Collins on third down with 5:53 left in the game was about 20 miles past absurd. And much more damaging than the shot Collins took.
Suggs reached up in an attempt to deflect the pass and appeared to mostly catch Collins on the shoulder pad. But the Ravens were penalized 15 yards.
They also gave the Titans a second-and-5 on their 26 witih 2:34 remaining after being penalized for having 12 men on the field. That's inexcusable.
The Ravens also failed to apply any pressure to Collins on that final drive. He had all day to throw before finding tight end Bo Scaife for 15 yards at the two minute warning. The completion put the ball on the 16, and Collins pumped once before connecting with Alge Crumpler for a touchdown on the next play.
The winning drive took 11 plays and covered 80 yards in 4:11.
This is a brutal loss, one that never should have happened, even to an undefeated team.
There was also a 5 yd penalty before Matt Stover missed the FG in the 1st half. This should have been a Ravens win even more so than last week. The only positive this week is Jags should beat Steelers and the AFC wildcards look weak. The Ravens also ave an easy streak coming up after Indi,
