Ravens ready for Colts to bring the noise
Thursdays are John Harbaugh's days away from the media (the man needs a break from us every now and then), and his coordinators take to the podium instead.
While Harbaugh's press conferences usually take place on the edge of the Ravens' indoor practice field, the coordinators speak outside, near the outdoor practice area.
During special teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg's press conference, a loud noise started blaring from near the fields. At first, everyone was confused, with some asking if it was a chainsaw coming from the wooded area behind the facility.
Turns out it was "crowd noise". The Ravens have been practicing with speakers set up around the fields, and artificial crowd noise is being pumped in to simulate the conditions of the Colts' domed Lucas Oil Stadium.
Rosburg treated it like a professional, cracking a smile and stopping the press conference until someone alerted the guy testing the sound system that he needed to turn the speakers off.
Hopefully the noise has the same minimal effect on Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense.
