Ravens-Titans pregame notes
MICHAEL PHELPS IS HERE!!
The eight-time gold medal winner at the Beijing Olympics and Baltimore native is at M&T Bank Stadium today to serve as an honorary captain. He apparently will be on the field with Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti in a few minutes and then will be announced to the crowd right before kickoff.
Carmelo Anthony filled the honorary captain shoes Week 1 against the Bengals, so the Ravens have had some pretty talented Olympians in that role so far.
The Ravens are in their white jerseys and black pants again, so this looks like it might be something they're sticking with for a while.
The offense got introduced individually last home game, so expect the defense to get the intros today.
Here are the inactives for both teams. There aren't any surprises for either squad. Willis McGahee is in uniform after being limited in practice this week with sore ribs. He seems to be running somewhat gingerly in warmups, but it looks like he will try to play.
Ravens' Inactives: Troy Smith, Samari Rolle, Dawan Landry, Derrick Martin, Oniel Cousins, David Hale, Marcus Smith, Kelly Gregg.
Justin Bannan will start for Gregg at nose tackle. Fabian Washington will start in place of Samari Rolle at right corner. Jim Leonhard will get the nod for Dawan Landry at strong safety.
Titans' Inactives: Josh Miller, Paul Williams, Justin Gage, Reynaldo Hill, Chris Henry, Mike Otto, William Hayes, Kevin Vickerson.
Brandon Jones will start for Gage at wide receiver.
Miller was signed by the Titans yesterday to provide insurance for punter Craig Hentrich. Hentrich has been dealing with a back injury, but because Miller was designated as inactive, we can assume that Hentrich is healthy and will play.
