Final Game at Yankee Stadium O's Jersey Auction Ends Tomorrow at Noon
Baseball fans have a chance to own a piece of history and help a good cause by bidding on one of the Orioles' game-worn jerseys from the final game at Yankee Stadium. The online auction, which ends at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19, features jerseys worn by Orioles players and coaches in their game against the Yankees on September 21, the last contest played at the historic ballpark. The game also marked the last time the team wore "Orioles" on the front of their road uniforms.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit Shannon's Fund. Created in memory of Shannon Obaker, the Orioles' Director of Community Outreach who bravely fought cancer for over a year before passing away in January 2007 at age 29, Shannon's Fund is a $50,000 endowment at the University of Maryland Medical Center that provides financial assistance for cancer patients and their families.
To bid on one of these jerseys, fans should visit www.orioles.com.
