Lots of news on the O-line
There was an old but familiar face back with the Ravens today.
Chad Slaughter, an offensive lineman who was signed and then released by the Ravens during the preseason, was in the locker room and apparently has been re-signed to provide depth at tackle.
The Ravens have not announced the roster move yet, but news should come later today.
Slaughter said that he still remembers most of the offense, but acknowledged that his mind isn't exactly in football shape since he got released nearly three months ago.
"You always have to have a little book time to catch back up," he said, "because my mind's been with my kids and the family thing every day."
Slaughter said he hopes he can be ready to play on Sunday if needed, but having just come back to the team, head coach John Harbaugh would likely only use him as a last resort.
The 30-year-old's expected signing comes because of injuries to the Ravens' three top offensive tackles.
Jared Gaither and Adam Terry both went down injured in last Sunday's game against the Giants, and Willie Anderson is still working back from an ankle injury that forced him to miss last Sunday's game.
Harbaugh said today that Gaither's arm was in a sling today he is still rehabbing from his shoulder injury. His status for this Sunday's game against the Eagles is uncertain.
Anderson told me he's further along today than he was at this point last week, and is making progress every day. He said he hopes to be out there against the Eagles. The outlook appears better for Terry, who said today that his ankle feels good. He likely will be good to go for this weekend.
