QB Bouman released
The Ravens waived Todd Bouman, who for the majority of the first half of the season was their backup quarterback, and signed cornerback Anwar Phillips from their practice squad.
The move comes due to Baltimore's big-time injury concerns at cornerback, as Chris McAlister, Samari Rolle, and Aaron Walker are all banged up going into this weekend. McAlister and Rolle are both listed as doubtful (although neither will play) and Walker is questionable with a thigh injury.
Bouman was signed at the end of the preseason to provide depth at the QB spot. Troy Smith and Kyle Boller went down with a tonsil infection and a shoulder injury, respectively, and Bouman came in to fill the void behind Joe Flacco.
The 10-year veteran was knocked into the third-string role when Smith was healthy enough to return to the team.
Phillips was on the New Orleans Saints' practice squad for the last two seasons. The 26-year-old Penn State product was signed by the Ravens back in July. He's had three seperate stints on Baltimore's practice squad since then.
