Miller ailing
Reliever Jim Miller is walking around the complex with an ice pack on his shoulder. He's been receiving treatment for inflammation since tossing a scoreless inning in the exhibition opener against the Mets eight days ago.
Miller woke up the next morning with a knot behind the shoulder. He was shut down a couple of days, then tried playing catch over the weekend, but his condition hasn't improved.
Miller won't be available to pitch until the inflammation goes away.
At least he isn't a candidate for the rotation.

You said it right..thank goodness he is not vying for a starter spot....amazing the injuries just keep coming to the poor pitchers..at least so far they are not to serious..Hill and Hennessey I really would love to make this team and hope they get better soon.
Roch- Any word on Obama throwing out the first pitch on April 6th? The Nationals are opening on the road so it seems likely.

Haven't heard anything definite. - Roch
Hey roch- I'm wondering what the injured guys do when they are "shut down". For example, has Hill spent the past couple of days reviewng tape of hitters or a delivery? Thanks

Don't know about him specifically. Depends on the injury. Guys can still run or ride the stationary bike. They get treatment in the trainers room. And they certainly can look at video, though the healthy players do that, too. - Roch
Bravo steveO! Seeing the headline "O's beaten by the Uggla stick" might be worth the loss that would have to accompany it. :)
Great news from Trembley on Pie. A number one prospect in an organization should be given a serious look. He has shown promise already.
Roch- Are the O's content with the leftfield logjam? It would be a shame just to have to release a guy with big league talent- but a very good "problem" to have- one the O's have not faced in, well, not since I have been alive. The plan is already beginning to pay dividends as players know that a solid ST performance may not get it done this year.
Hey Roch,
How much longer until the first group of ST invities get re-assigned?

Trembley hasn't announced a date. First minor league games don't start until March 17, so Trembley doesn't sound like he's in a rush. And he needs healthy pitchers here. - Roch
