Nationals and Levy Restaurants Invite Local Military and Neigborhood Businesses to "Soft Opening" of Nationals Park Concessions
The Washington Nationals and their partner Levy Restaurants today announced they will host a "soft opening" of their concession stands on Monday, March 30, Tuesday, March 31 and Wednesday, April 1. The three events will take place from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. With the assistance of the Capitol Riverfront BID (Business Improvement District), the team has invited 1,800 guests, including military personnel from the Navy Yard and Marine Barracks and local businessmen and women, to sample the food and beverage options at Nationals Park concession stands and carts. The events will serve as training sessions for Levy employees and provide the Nationals the opportunity to give back to their community as Opening Day approaches. Complimentary tickets were distributed earlier this week. This event is not open to the public. Media is invited to attend a concessions tour on Friday, April 3. A media advisory will be distributed with further information about the concessions tour.
These efforts to train the service staff demonstrate the commitment by the Nationals and Levy Restaurants to provide first-class service to their fans in 2009 and beyond. The Washington Nationals partnership with Levy to manage the food and beverage service was announced in February of 2009. Levy will serve traditional ballpark fare and upscale menu items, featuring regional dishes and innovative versions of D.C.'s favorites throughout Nationals Park.
The Nationals home opener is on Monday, April 13 vs. the Philadelphia Phillies at 3:05pm.
