The owner is here (with more quotes)
Orioles majority owner Peter Angelos is attending today's game in Jupiter. He was in Sarasota yesterday to check out the possible site of a new spring training facility, and will head over to City of Palms Park in Fort Myers tomorrow.
The Orioles have two options years left on their agreement with the city of Fort Lauderdale.
Angelos said he speaks to Andy MacPhail, president of baseball operations, about once every two weeks.
"He calls when he thinks there's something important for us to talk about," Angelos said. "The club's in good hands, as is quite obvious, so too many calls aren't really required."
Asked about the team this spring, Angelos said, "I think it looks good. Andy's doing a great job. If we could maintain that impetus, things should be pretty good. I don't know about this year, but certainly next year and thereafter, we have high hopes. We're not one player deep anymore. We're two and three deep."
As the Orioles draw closer to contention, perhaps after this season, they appear more willing to spend on marquee free agents.
"Absolutely,'' Angelos said. "We've had that in mind, and I believe the resources will be available to do that."

Mr. Angelos is right. The O's are 2-3 deep, unfortunately that includes the pitching staff.
After all these years of seeing the O's get Bell, Sosa, Daniel C.
Does anyone believe he knows baseball
