I'll check with Trembley after BP. - Roch
I've seen Justin Turner in the lineup several times, how is the young guy doing? Good fielder? How about the bat?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Definitely swings the bat well (as Terry Crowley pointed out to me this morning. More on that to come in a later post), and he turned a nice double play at second base yesterday. Looks like a guy who could play in the majors at some point. - Roch
Man, I don't want Liz to even think he's a starter. I wish that Trembley had switched Matusz and Liz in the pitching order. Is there a chance that Moore will play SS at Norfolk this year? It seems to me that this would make him more attractive to the front office, who don't seem to see him as a potential starter at 3B or 1B in the future. If he can be Chris Gomes with some pop, he'll have a long (if not well travelled) career.
Ohayou = good morning.
Dave Trembley, in my opinion, has been doing an excellent job of getting guys in the lineup. Seems like many players would be sitting around for days, but he keeps the dust from settling on them.
Last week when the Orioles were making 3 or 4 base running mistakes in one game, I think, is from being too aggressive, but then again, too clueless. You can have speedy guys out there, but they also have to be smart. Good thing it's spring training, because it's matter of getting those instincts going. Once that happens, I believe there will be less mistakes made on the base paths.
I read the last post's comments...man, Jack can sure turn grape juice into lemonade in a couple of words. Is there a way to keep his blithering out of these posts?
Roch, thanks for all the great work. It helps me get the "grape juice" flowing before the regular season begins.
Roch,
Any short squad games on the schedule as another way to get all these arms some work?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you mean B games, they're playing one Saturday. Two more intrasquad games scheduled, too, for the next two open dates. - Roch
Is anyone else as excited as I am to finally get to see the squad tomorrow on TV?
Roch, I usually just sit back and read the blog without commenting, but I did want to say thank you. Thank you for giving me something to do while I hate my life at work. I don’t know where I would be without you.
Roch, how would you compare the team in spring training this year over the past couple of years? In particular, from a standpoint of chemistry, effort, and attitude. Do you believe this is a team that believes it can win 85 games (which would be a great season given our recent history)? Or is it too early to get a good feel for these type of things?
Thanks.

The attitude is great, but honestly, it seems that way every spring. That's why I don't read too much into it. - Roch
Roch:
When are we going to see more of Nolan Reimold? The guy hits a bomb, makes a great diving catch and he is forced to sit becasue Pie finally gets his visa cleared. WHat gives??
