Finally home
The Nationals, like me, left Clearwater Florida after Thursday's game against the Phillies to head north for two exhibition games against the Orioles before the 2009 season begins on Monday.
The biggest difference is the team flew on a chartered flight and I flew commercial. I arrived at Tampa airport for my connecting flight to Atlanta, which of course was delayed. The delay caused me to miss my connecting flight to Baltimore.
If that wasn't bad enough, once I finally arrived at BWI, got my luggage and took the shuttle to the long-term parking lot, I forgot where I parked.
I know I should've written it down but I didn't and I spent the better part of 45 minutes pushing the panic button on my car key trying to find my car.
By the time I did, got on the road and arrived home, which I barely recognized because it's been seven weeks since I've seen my house, it was 3:47 a.m.
I'm so delirious I totally forgot what I was writing about.
Oh right, weather permitting, the Nationals and Orioles will play in Norfolk this afternoon. Daniel Cabrera will battle Koji Uehara.
Washington's roster still sits at 36, but don't expect manager Manny Acta to announce the final 11 cuts until the team gets to Nationals Park on Saturday.
One we know of is infielder Alex Cintron will be sent to Triple-A Syracuse.
The biggest question surrounds infielder Kory Casto. Casto is out of options and the team must decide what to do with him. Most likely he'll be put on waivers today or tomorrow.
