More on Mora
Melvin Mora was going to catch a flight to Norfolk today. No driving for this guy.
However, it didn't go as planned, so Mora stayed in Baltimore, came off the disabled list and appeared in tonight's lineup.
Mora ran in the outfield before batting practice yesterday to test the hamstring. Then he ran into a problem.
"I tried to go to the airport and there was traffic everywhere," he said. "I tried to catch the next (flight), and the next one goes to Dallas, and I had to be at the ballpark at 6 o'clock. That's why I went to (Dave) Trembley and said, 'I was ready to go over. I only go over there to take two at-bats, so I'm ready to take them here.'
"I don't know if I'm able to do everything, but it doesn't bother me. I'm 100 percent. I'm excited, especially when you see those guys at the top of the lineup get on base a lot. I'm excited be able to knock some runs in. I'm excited to see those guys hitting the ball."
And I'm excited to invade your homes again tonight - or your favorite bars, depending where you choose to watch the Orioles. I'm scheduled to do an in-game hit with MASN's Amber Theoharis in the fifth inning.

Good to see Mora back. He continued hitting well into this year and I hope he brings a more patient approach to the plate than Wigginton, who should really be a bench guy/DH at this point. When you are driving down to the park today, say hi to Ryan Freel. He should be on the next MTA train to wherever he feels his .133 batting average will earn him starting playing time.
You think Dave was excited to hear he had another right-handed bat to put in there tonight?
So happy to have Melvin back tonight!!!!!
Roch,
Whats the over/under on Amber making fun of you tonight?

It's practically guaranteed. - Roch
Don't understand why Zaun is on the "bad list" with everybody. As I have stated before, we knew what we were getting with his bat and that pretty much amounts to nothing. However, he is invaluable......he calls a beautiful game, nothing gets by him (someone please correct me if I am wrong but he hasn't allowed a past ball all year) and he commands the game in an artful way. Put the bat aside, he is a great catcher and we have Matt "da man" coming up at some point this year. Who better to school him then Zauny? Matt has the bat and all the skills required to be a great catcher and he will benefit GREATLY from Zaun's toolage. Catching is one of the most underrated positions....and without a great catcher your pitchers will suffer. Any baseball junkie knows that, especially those that coach (a real team).
Roch, another nice shameless plug. Please tell me you are not wearing a suit tonight! Have to DVR the game again, gotta catch AI.
I see how it is. Looks like ANDREW was cheap and ordered the better talent, Montanez, to drive to Baltimore but was going to waste money putting Mora on a plane. Being cheap backfired this time since he had to add Mora to the active roster and send down the NL reject Albers who keeps costing the team games instead. It looks like his PLAN didn't work once again. Now watch Montanez show him how a real stud prospect looks in LF tonight. I hope OLD PETER is watching from his luxury suite and sees that the 5,000 fans in the stadium still are not pleased with the lack of progress despite all their proclaimations to the contrary.
Roch, Your joking. Mora said there was traffic everywhere at the airport. Hello! It's an airport, of course there's going to be traffic everywhere. It's just his way of getting out of going to Norfolk. He better hope he doesn't re-aggravate the hammy or you know his butt will be in Norfolk next time. Melvin, you have to spend time stretching out. The airport excuse is a bunch of baloney.
In any case, if he does his stretches (don't just go through the motions) he'll be a sight for sore eyes. We need his bat and his glove out there. We've probably lost at least two games without him in the lineup.
Dear Classmates:
We aren't even out of April, and I hear all you GM wannabes whining:
Cut ____(fill-in the blank):
Freel, Pie, Wiggy, Eaton, Hendrickson, Izturis, Baez, Walker...
Bring up____(fill-in the blank):
Bergy, Montanez, Riemold, Turner, Bascom, Moore,
Waters...
Trembley should have ____(fill-in blank):
left him in, taken him out, pinch hit, pinch ran, put ____(fill-in blank) in the lineup instead of ___(fill-in blank).
NEW RULES...next classmates that asks if ___(fill-in blank) has any options left or what options are, must go to TIMEOUT.
The smartest thing I've read from a classmate in weeks:

isnt it funny how managers of bad teams always seem to be bad managers and managers of good teams always look like good managers. One would almost think there was a connection in there somewhere.
Enjoy the season...life's short.
Really nice to see Mora back and feels as if he is ready and will for sure give it his all...rusty hitter or not...he sounds very excited.
