I know you don't care, but should I do it?
I know you care more about the school sysytem in China, but should I pull the trig on this deal? I am a fantasy baseball geek and I take pride in it. I have played for 12 years and I have four titles and three runner ups. So I am, basically, the Joe Torre of fantasy baseball.
Here's the deal. I have been offered Nick Markakis and Jacoby Ellsbury for A-Roid and Milt Bradley. Our league scoring is based on six batting categories and six pitching. I am dominating the pitching because my staff is better than the 1972 Orioles. I have Halladay, Santana, Beckett, Bedard and Haren. I know you care. I am off to a slow start offensively and could use a spark.
The batting cats are hitting, HRs, RBIs, runs, hits and steals. A-Rod already has 5 bombs in 11 games and you know he will hit 35 or more. He will be in the 100 RBI range and will have good run and hit numbers. Bradley is off to a horrible start. He is batting .195 and has already been suspended. The guy is nuts and he could blow up any second; and playing every day in the field scares me because he isn't used to it. So I dont mind parting with Milt. A-Rod, on the other hand, is a top three fantasy player.
Markakis is a stud and will hit .300 and 25 to 30 and get on base. He is hittng close to .340 now, and with Adam Jones hitting second, he should get the 100 RBIs. Ellsbury will steal 60 plus and he is actually hitting for average this year.
The deal on paper looks good.....DO I DO IT? Remember, it's A-Rod!! I don't care if he's juicing. If it helps me win another title, why should I care. Thoughts?

As a former Champ in my league last year, making 3 deals in June to go from 2nd last to win come October (like you care), I say you do it. Cakes & Ellsbury will get you average, runs, some pop & SB's. And they'll be more likely to be around all season.
If the Yanks fall off, like I expect they will, ARod will be having further surgery. He's one tweak away from sitting the rest of the season. Do the freaking deal!
Lurch poppa, OF COURSE YOU DO IT!!! We're talking about A-Roid hitting 35 more from THIS POINT IN THE SEASON. We're 30 games in and he's hitting one every other?!? C'mon wi-i-i-ick, pull the Trigger. Ima Sox fan also, but I'd take A-Roid over every other hitter in the game right now, just not in the playoffs. . .
At least you own that this is a complete punt. If you were a fantasy geek you would have pulled the trigger on that bad boy already, Markakis is sick and Ellsbury is a steal machine. Hope you go break the bank to go to AC and come back with nothing...lick.
Do It!!! There is no evidence that A-Rod has been juicing for the past couple of years only that he was juicing early in his career. Everyone makes a mistake every so often.
I mean would you look down upon him he snuck out of some psycho ex-girlfriend's house and stole her wallet in the process?

I am so proud of you, this is a fantasy deal you need to pull the trigger on. I had Markakis, Ellsbury, and Bradley...needless to say I dropped Bradley because he bats JP's average speed. Do it now.

is it a keeper league? if so, don't. if not, def do it, arod will have a sub par year with his injury.

I just want to say that Mighty Donkey is an idiot! He has A-Rod. He would be trading away A-Rod. And I disagree with keeping A-Rod. 2 awesome players are betting than (maybe) the best player in the game. A-Roid and Milton can't make up the productivity that Markakis and Ellsbury will produce!

The question is who do you have to fill in for A-Rod at 3rd? If you can plug somebody decent in then I would do the deal. If you are hitting the waivers to find a new 3rd baseman, then it might not be worth it. I am assuming you have someone decent since going into the draft you knew A-Rod was out for the first month.
P.S. Can you please help me clean this deer up?

You have to pull the trigger on that deal. You are dead on about Ellsbury stealing 60 or more & coming on with the bat, but once Youkilis gets back & Papi finally breaks out of the slump, he's also a lock to score more than 110 runs this year. Markakis may be the best young hitter in the game, & not only will he have B-Rob & Adam Jones ahead of him, but Aubrey Huff is silly (just ask Valdez) & Wieters is also on the way. Markakis will see a bigger jump in RBI's, SB's & runs scored once Wieters gets up. Now go out & pull the trigger on that deal, celebrate it with a drink & some strange from the Bonefish & if you win your 5th title this year, celebrate it by not b**ging your wife again. Silly!!!!!
