I'm not watching! Are you?
| | Comments (12)

Tomorrow night the NBA will hold one of the biggest non-events in sports, the NBA Draft Lottery.

TNT will air it before the Lakers tip off against the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. We've all watched this before. Ping pong balls, big cards with team logos and a bunch of donkeys praying that their team can land the top pick.

I'm not saying I'm not interested -- I'd love it if the Wizards could land Blake Griffin--but do they need to milk it into a half hour show? Seriously, it's a waste of time.

I'll check MASNsports.com at 9:30 for the results. I'm not watching. And you know what else I'm not watching:

1. The Belmont Stakes - Shocker, no Triple Crown winner this year. OK, jockey Calvin Borel can go for his own personal Triple Crown but does anybody care about that? I don't. No chance I watch the Belmont Stakes. Who cares if Mine that Bird or Rachel Alexandra win? Well, maybe Cakes does because he's into the Double Crown, but I'm not.

2. Michael Phelps - If it's not the Olympics, I'm not watching. I don't care about the Charlotte UltraSwim. Do you? No.

3. The NHL Playoffs - No Caps. No interest. Wait till next year.

4. The French Open - Everybody knows it's going to be Federer versus Nadal in the finals and everybody knows that Nadal is going to win on the clay once again. Federer winning in the Madrid Open is meaningless. Nadal has his number. I'm not watching!

5. 4th and Long with Michael Irvin - The tag line for the Spike TV show is "twelve amateur athletes compete for one shot at making the pros." It's the pro football version of "Knight School." Can you say nubs?

We all know that it will be Roger vs. Rafa in the finals; but its still excellent tv. I don't even like Nadal, but I love watching him play on clay. Something about being able to see one of the most dominant athletes of our time in his best surrounding... you may never see a better game played on clay. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Ha ha ha! At least the Nationals are on, right? I'd rather watch the sad sack Nats than all that stuff......

Shocker, the latin donkey won't watch sports that don't have to do with kicking a nubs ball into a net.

Perfect length! Are you going to have your cousin Jesus swing by to give me an estimate on my landscaping?

The Wizards won't be any good with Blake Griffin, mostly because they're cursed. Much like JP wasn't any good with boxing.

Definatly watching the lottery. Caps are out, Zards never were in. Nats suck, Os suck, not into MMA, and skins havent started yet, I'm grasping for any sporting event that I have invested interest in. Slow down on your way to work Glass Joe

How bout a post without the word "shocker"

You forgot to include the one thing that no one will be reading.....JP's book.

Im a die hard caps fan and i still care about the stanley cup playoffs. If you are a TRUE hockey fan donk you can still be in it even if your team isnt. while the Whalers (hurricanes) are in the same division as the caps i am still cheering for them because i cant stand the damn penguins. sorry cakes.........

JP: Your posts are lacking any substance. I mean come on if you are going to publish a book some time before you die then I hope it's better written than your posts.

1) There's usually a good baseball game playing on tv... learn to love the game and not just one team.

2) A horse race is a horse race... a lot of talk and very little action but it doesn't mean every race has to have a contender for the Triple Crown.

3) Hockey on tv is hard to get watch... so why is that even an option?

4) Swimming is fun to watch if you were a competitive swimmer. Tennis is BORING... more boring than a MLS game. As for Michael Irving... why would you even think about watching that hurting do anything other play football?

You're such a donk merely because you love to complain about everything that doesn't revolve around MMA. I seem to remember you posted once that you weren't interested in the Final Four games because there wasn't any Cinderella team. You need the nickname: "The Nag"!
