Nationals Recall Luke Montz from Double-A Harrisburg, Designate Daniel Cabrera for Assignment
The Washington Nationals today recalled catcher Luke Montz from Harrisburg of the Double-A Eastern League and designated right-handed pitcher Daniel Cabrera for assignment. Nationals Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Baseball Operations Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
A solid defensive catcher with a strong throwing arm, Montz made his big-league debut and played in 10 games last season with the Nationals. In 33 games between Harrisburg and Triple-A Syracuse this season, he had two home runs, eight RBI and 15 walks.
