A bad start

So besides the Sox leading 4-0, Adam Jones leaving the game injured and Boston running amok on the bases, how are you enjoying things so far?

Jones left the game for precautionary reasons, they just announced in the press box and say he is day to day. He hit that wall pretty hard trying to catch a Kevin Youkilis homer in the top of the first.

The Red Sox have stolen two bases easily so far tonight. The pitchers just need to give Matt Wieters more help than he has been getting. Boston's running on the bases in this series has to be a little embarrasing to the home team at this point.

One thing about the Red Sox. They will play hard, every play, every day. Every pitch, every at bat. It's up to the O's to match that intensity.

So far, the hot dog race just got the biggest cheer of the night.

Hopefully the O's will warm up to the task and start doing something to garner their own cheers as this game goes on.

Roch,

How many more starts do you think they give to Hill and Berken? I say they Bring tillman up or patton because I couldnt imagine them doing much worse.

You'd figure that Berken is on shorter leash because he has options, but the club hasn't put a set number of starts on either guy. Tillman needs to string together some dominant starts. Not like he's on a huge roll and beating down the door. - Roch

It's pretty obvious that Rich Hill isn't long for the American League.

Or the National League.

Or the Sally League.

How long?

I hate to say it, but the Red Sox are just a much better team than the Orioles right now. It really looks like one of those college basketball games where Maryland plays Salisbury State. When you add in what you said about Boston playing hard every night-I admire the way they approach the game, the outcomes never really seem like they are in doubt. Even last night, where the score was only 4 to 0, it felt like a double digit margin.

It does give the team something to shoot for though. That is, we will know the Orioles have arrived whenever they are competitive against the Red Sox. This is going to take a while--a great many defeats to the likes of Boston and New York to come, but I think we will eventually get there. At least the team is finally going in the right direction.
