A bug, some ups and downs and Baseball Bash secrets
| | Comments (17)

Despite a summer bug that had Brian Roberts feeling a little under the hot and humid weather, he needed only the usual minute or two to organize his thoughts on the Orioles in order to check in with his fans as he does each week during the season.

Touching on the ups and downs he's experienced personally and as part of this young Orioles team, Brian gives his take the source of some of the O's streakiness this season.

Finally, fans Brooke, Allie and Jill got their questions answered as B-Rob let fans in on a few Baseball Bash secrets, tricks he and Diana have taught their "crazy dog Rocky" and how he feels about learning another language.

Don't forget to submit your questions for Brian using the comment box below, and he might answer yours in his next post from Seattle!

are you friends with players on other teams? a lot of times I see the players talking to the opposing team while on the bases.

do you have any other favorite charities besides your Bash and Shannon's fund?

I hope you feel better, Brian! I know I've asked a few questions in the past, but I am really enjoying the these blogs each week. I can't wait for the Bash, I was wondering if there were any volunteer opportunities for the Bash, like the ticket takers and such. Thanks so much, I'll be out to see the O's game on Wed. afternoon.

I was wondering who is the funniest oriole?

I was wondering if you knew what is happening with Ernie Tyler? I have not seen him at the ballpark for a little while.
Thanks

Do you do anything before a game that helps u prepare for it like Jim palmer ate pancakes before every game.

Do you play any musical instruments? And what's your favorite video game to play?

How has the atmosphere in the clubhouse changed with the recent influx of young players? I'm sure there's a practical joker in the bunch somewhere, and if so, who is it?

Brian said:

Why don't you run out ground balls? I've seen defensive line man run faster then you do down the first base line. You're a base stealer but when it comes to routine ground balls you walk down the line. Wouldn't you feel bad if there was an error on a play and you were out because you didn't hustle or is that what $40 million does to you.

Thanks

Hi Brian,

Are you excited by the influx of young talent you've seen coming to the O's and in the Minor League system? Has this, along with your re-signing and that of Nick made the other veterans like Huff and Wigginton want to hang around Baltimore a few more years? Do any vets on other teams you speak to express interest in coming to the O's?

Teresa said:

Hey Brian! You said in a recent blog that you and your wife like to travel, what's your favorite vacation spot to travel to and is there any place that you havent been to that you would like to visit?

Thanks :)

Keri said:

Hey Brian, I called Univ. of MD about volunteering so disregard my question. I hope you are feeling better soon and able to get back to playing.

Dear Brian,
How are you feeling? Hope you are well. I am excited for the bash. I was wondering if you took piano lessons or
would like to learn how to play?
