Dunn out with wrist injury
Outfielder Adam Dunn will miss tonight's game, not just because left-hander Jon Lester is on the mound, but because he's nursing a right wrist injury.
Dunn said the wrist has been bothering him for a while, but he tweaked it while batting in the fourth inning last night.
He had an MRI on it and results came back negative.
"It was more precautionary than anything," he said. "I've been trying to describe it all day and I can't. Pain is like I hit my bat against your shin. That's pain, you know."
Dunn said it lies somewhere between pain and discomfort.
He is available to play tonight if needed. Dunn referred to days off as "good, solid benchings."
